A reminder there will be drop in session on Monday on the improvements proposed by the council for Osborne Road and Palmerston Road shopping area on Monday 1st July 2013 from 2pm – 8pm at St Jude’s Church. I will be there for hopefully most of the time along with council officers and my ward colleagues – Cllr Peter Eddis and Cllr Hugh Mason. (There will also be an exhibition in the precinct on Saturday 13th July). Please do come along to have your say. (St Jude’s Church is at the top of the precinct – see Google Maps for more details).
The Lib Dems delivered the new library to Southsea precinct. There has also been a revamp of Palmerston Road South and a new Sainsbury’s has opened.
There will be a new Tesco in the precinct soon. Lib Dem councillors listened to local residents and were successful in getting the taxi rank moved to outside Debenhams.
The Lib Dem council has now secured £5 million from central Government to spend on transport and infrastructure improvements across the city.
As part of this, your St Jude ward councillors have ensured there will be improvements in Southsea – particularly Osborne Road and the junction at Knight and Lee and Debenhams.
There are more details on the plans on the council’s website at http://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/living/21954.html
. (but please let us know as well as the council).
