Osborne Road at the junction of Elphinstone Road will be closed from 8pm tonight (Monday 28th July 2014) in order for Colas to investigate a trench depression and hole that has appeared in the carriageway.
Osborne Road will be closed to all through-traffic for the duration of the works however all businesses will be open as normal with full pedestrian access and residents will be able to access their properties.
A signed diversion will be in place via Clarence Parade, Clarendon Road, Osborne Road and Portland Road. Road users are being advised to follow the signed diversion in order to keep traffic in the area running as smoothly as possible. The junction of Elphinstone Road will be marshalled to guide residents around any works traffic.
Currently the closure is due to be lifted at 07.00 tomorrow morning, however this is dependent on the results of the investigation. Colas are liaising with both Portsmouth Water and Southern Water to ensure that representatives are able to attend the site overnight if necessary. If the road has to remain closed the diversion route and marshals will remain in place.
Tomorrow night 29/07 has also been booked as a contingency.Leave a comment
